Stacking the Shelves
This meme is hosted at Tynga's Reviews. Links go to Goodreads. This week, I got:
The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau - This sounds pretty good, but the cover really doesn't jump out at me. I guess the maze is cool, though.
This Is Not A Test by Courtney Summers - I have hard such amazing things about this author, so I'm very excited to pick up one of her novels.
Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier - I just started this, and so far I'm really liking it.
The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay - Another book I've heard great things about.
A Midsummer's Nightmare by Kody Keplinger - I really enjoyed The DUFF, so this one is hopefully as entertaining.
Venom by Fiona Paul - I've heard mixed things about this, but I've been loving historical fiction lately and that cover is to die for.
Dance Of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin - I loved Masque of the Red Death, but I have a bad feeling about this particular love triangle.
Always Watching by Chevy Stevens - Both Still Missing and Never Knowing were great, so I can't wait to see what this one is like.
What did you get this week?

I've heard good things about The Testing, hope you enjoy
ReplyDeleteI have, too! Thanks.
DeleteThere are a lot of new ones on this list, so I'll have to check them out. Always Watching looks creepy, so I might have to grab the first book. Happy reading :)

I really like Chevy Steven's books, especially her debut, Still Missing. Thank you!
DeleteLoved The Testing! Hope you do too. Thanks for visiting!
ReplyDeleteAnytime. I'm glad to get a positive opinion from someone who has read it. :)
DeleteWow, you got some fantastic books this week! This is Not a Test is REALLY good. I was kind of meh about Venom but you're right, it's such a gorgeous book, and not just the cover - the pages all have this beautiful design and each new chapter has a page with a quote and design. SO pretty. I'm getting into historic fiction lately too, but it didn't have a real historic feel to me. I hope you enjoy it though. I'm glad you're enjoying Ruby Red - I got it for Christmas and I'm hoping to read it soon. Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier, I appreciate it. Happy reading! :-)

I'm excited to read This Is Not A Test! Though I probably should have read Some Girls Are first, since I own it, lol. It just sounded more interesting, I guess. It's awful to be lured in by a beautiful cover only to be disappointed at the end, isn't it? I love the writing of Ruby Red so far! Though I'm only on page 40.
DeleteGreat haul! You just reminded me that I too have The Sea of Tranquility and I really should read it soon!
ReplyDeleteHopefully we both enjoy it! Honestly I haven't had much luck with New Adult as a genre, so I'm hoping that'll change wit this novel.
DeleteExcellent haul! I hope my library gets Dance of the Red Death in very soon; I really enjoyed the first book. I hope you enjoy all of your books, and thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI loved the gothic feel to the story; I hope your library gets a copy soon, too!
DeleteI've been meaning to read A Midsummer's Nightmare for forever. I agree that The Testing's cover is bo-ring. Always watching looks pretty intriguing. I hope you like it as much as the author's other books. Great haul! Thanks for stopping by mine!

Yeah, I have too, especially after The DUFF. Normally I can get into symbolic covers (i.e. The Hunger Games), but for some reason The Testing's makes me want to fall asleep. Thanks!
DeleteGreat haul! I've been meaning to read Midsummer foreverrr!! And Dance of Red Death is at the top of my to read list!

ReplyDeleteIt is pretty dark, but there's a touch of hope here and there. :D
DeleteI really like the covers of Bethany Griffin's books. Although I haven't read Masque of the Red Death yet, but I've been hearing lots of great things about it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. ^_^
I'd recommend it if you like steampunk (though honestly I'm still trying to figure out that genre). :D
