Top Ten Tuesday

This meme is hosted at The Broke and the Bookish. Links go to Goodreads. And this week, the topic is:

Top Ten Books I HAD to buy . . . but are still not read

Falling Kingdoms (Falling Kingdoms, #1)

1. Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes - This looked SO good when I first saw it; I'm a high fantasy nut so of course I was going to buy it. But, um, it has been neglected.

The Crown of Embers (Fire and Thorns, #2)

2. The Crown Of Embers by Rae Carson - I loved The Girl Of Fire and Thorns, so I really wanted to pick this up, but for some reason I haven't continued on with this series yet.

Enchanted (Woodcutter Sisters #1)

3. Enchanted by Alethea Kontis - I love fairy tale retellings and the cover for this is gorgeous. It's probably the mixed reviews I've read that's put me off.

Insurgent (Divergent, #2)

4. Insurgent by Veronica Roth - I still haven't read this yet! I bought it last May. What is wrong with me?!

UnWholly (Unwind, #2)

5. Unwholly by Neal Shusterman - In truth, I am scared to read this since Unwind was so good.

Lola and the Boy Next Door

6. Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins - I remember starting this a long time ago, and then setting it aside for something else. That happens far too often these days.

Requiem (Delirium, #3)

7. Requiem by Lauren Oliver - Okay, so in all honesty I haven't had this THAT long, but I should have read it by now since I loved the first two so much. I'm just nervous because of how openly people say it ends.

Breathe (Breathe, #1)

8. Breathe by Sarah Crossan - I got this because it sounded kind of like Under The Never Sky, but again, it just never happened.

Sever (The Chemical Garden, #3)

9. Sever by Lauren DeStefano - Wow, I seriously have a lot of sequels to get to . . .

Need (Need, #1)

10. Need by Carrie Jones - Hmm. I really should start this series some day.

  2. I've heard really great things about Lauren Oliver's Delirium trilogy so I do hope you enjoy the conclusion. I've heard really great things about Veronica Roth's series. I should check it out sometime. Enjoy all of your books!

    1. You are very welcome. :)

Both of those series are really good, which is why I have to read their sequels soon. Arg.

  3. Oh, you have to read UNWHOLLY! It's so, so good. I adore Neal Shusterman, although I have to admit, I do have several of his books gathering dust on my shelves. I need to get to them SOON!

    1. Yeah, I know the feeling (there were several other books I could have chosen for this post, sadly). Okay, all this positive feedback for Unwholly is making me anxious to read it!

  4. I was SO EXCITED for Enchanted but I still haven't finished the book. Oops. I'm going to save Crown of Embers until The Bitter Kingdom comes out.

    1. Maybe I'll just do that, and the same thing with the Divergent books. At least I won't have to wait after I finish the middle novels. Sorry about Enchanted - not all our books can be winners, you know. :/

  6. I read the first two chapters, and it seemed about the same level of epicness, ha. Thanks for stopping by.

  7. I haven't bought Requiem yet but part of that is because of the reviews I've read.... A lot of people seem to be pretty disappointed and I'm scared to read it now! I loved the first book so much and then the 2nd one made me mad. I wanted Requiem to give me the ending that I really wanted but I'm not sure that it's going to do that.

  8. I loved Pandemonium for the action but I despised the introduction of the love triangle. And yeah, I'm scared to read it for pretty much the same reason, lol.
