Top Ten Tuesday - Beach Reads

This is hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish. Links go to Goodreads. This week, the topic is:

Top Ten Best Beach Reads

Lock and Key

1. Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen - This author is really good at doing light, fluffy stuff.

Poison

2. Poison by Bridget Zinn - Cute, fun and zany characters make this a fun, quick read.

Eleanor & Park

3. Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell - An absolutely gorgeous book, dampened only by the ending.

 All Unquiet Things

4. All Unquiet Things by Anna Jarzab - Perfect murder mystery to read under the sun.

Love and Other Perishable Items

5. Love and Other Perishable Items by Laura Buzo - I loved this novel earlier this year; it ended very realistically.

Pivot Point (Pivot Point, #1)

6. Pivot Point by Kasie West - Though this is paranormal, it actually has a very humorous atmosphere.

Ten

7. Ten by Getchen McNeil - Okay, maybe I like a little suspense in my beach reads. Plus, it does take place on an island.

Bared to You (Crossfire, #1)

8. Bared To You by Sylvia Day - (warning: this is most definitely an adult novel) - Tortured characters, awesome love scenes, well-crafted story...what more could you ask for?

The DUFF: Designated Ugly Fat Friend

9. The DUFF by Kody Keplinger - I had issues with this book, but overall I really enjoyed it.

Of Poseidon (Of Poseidon, #1)

10. Of Poseidon by Anna Banks - It's about mermaids! What's more beachy than that?

  5. Nice list, although I don't think I could bring myself to read an author like Sylvia Day on a public beach lol. And I'm not partial to murder books, but if I was a crowded sunny beach would be the ONLY place I'd read them, lol!

    1. LOL, yeah, you're right. I wouldn't read the other version of the cover, the one with the half naked woman on it. Ten actually did get pretty creepy at times...but then, I get scared really easily, so. *shrug* :)

  10. I absolutely love the Crossfire series but my list covered books I read at the beach so...I couldn't include that one. I haven't heard of the others but the covers are cool. I've seen "Eleanor and Park" going around at the library.

    1. Dessen's writing is very comforting once you're used to it - all her books have the same feel to them, if you know what I mean. Ten was an awesome mystery - I totally didn't see the ending coming!
