Stacking the Shelves
This meme is hosted over at Tynga's Reviews. Links go to Goodreads. This week, I got:
&
The Immortal Rules and The Eternity Cure by Julie Kagawa (bought physical copies) - I've already read and reviewed The Immortal Rules, but I decided to get a paperback copy of it along with its sequel - I'm not a fan of the redesigned covers, but hey, at least my books match.
The Program by Suzanne Young (bought physical copy) - I kind of bought this impulsively, so I'm hoping it's good. The first chapter was interesting, anyway.
Down To You by M. Leighton (e-book) - Not usually the type of thing I read, but I felt like reading an adult book (it's been a while), so we'll see how it goes.
Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan (library) - I heard that they redesigned the covers for this series, too, which is really disappointing because this looks so cool and different.
The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson (library) - I've been wanting to check out something by this author, and I have a weird attraction to serial killer books.
Sins & Needles by Karina Halle (e-book) - I believe that this is also adult. It sounds a little odd, but I've seen glowing reviews.
Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza (library) - I've seen mixed thought about this so far, but I like the sound of it. Cover is intriguing, too.

Nice haul! I like the cover redesign for The Immortal Rules, but not so sure about The Eternity Cure one. I mean, what even is that on the cover? A tree?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
You're welcome! Uh, I think they're tree roots. Which have, you know, absolutely nothing to do with the story. :/
ReplyDeleteI LOVED The Immortal Rules & The Eternity Cure!!! I also got The Program after seeing lots of good reviews. I really want to read Mila 2.0. Happy Reading!

ReplyDeleteI've heard awesome things so far too! I'm very excited to read it, and thanks!
DeleteI really really want to read The Program, I hope it's as good as I think it will be.
ReplyDeleteI definitely hope so, my friend. :)
DeleteI loved The Immortal Rules & The Eternity Cure. I'm lucky that in Australia they have a different cover, and it matches the original cover of The Immortal Rules.
ReplyDeleteI want to read The Program, and I own Sins and Needles & Mila 2.0 but haven't read either yet.
Enjoy all your new books.
Thanks for stopping by my STS
Sabina @ Delirious About Books
Jealous! I want those covers. *pouts* Thanks, I will. :D
DeleteI requested Mila 2.0 from the library 6 weeks ago and I'm still waiting. The book seems to be that popular, eh?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I had it on hold for a long time myself. Hope it's worth the wait.
DeleteNew follower. I loved The Immortal Rules and The Eternity Cure. They are awesome books. I hope you love them as much as I did. Come check out my haul as well.
ReplyDeleteGrace
Thanks! I'll stop by and follow your blog, too.
DeleteNew follower. I keep trying to get to Karina Halle and M. Leighton but they just keep slipping down my TBR shelf. Nice haul!

Thanks, I appreciate it! I'll follow back. I know the feeling, planning on reading something but it just doesn't happen. *sigh*
DeleteSins and Needles looks interesting. I haven't heard of that before. I still need to read the Immortal Rules! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteMy StS@Natflix&Books
I hadn't heard of it until recently, either. Thanks!
DeleteThe Program is REALLY good! Much better th an I expected. I also really liked MILA 2.0! Enjoy your books!

Thanks! I'm glad to hear they were both good. I just got done reading a really bad book, so I need something to lift my spirits. :)
DeleteI'm glad to hear that! I hope I get to it soon. You must read Julie Kagawa! She's one of my favorite authors ever. You're welcome. :)
ReplyDeleteI got The Program this week as well! And I've heard that Down To You is amazing. I have the Immortal Rules, but I haven't read it yet! I should do that. Anyway. I hope you enjoy all of your books! And have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteCheck out my STS post!
Thanks so much! I highly recommend The Immortal Rules, it's a great book.
ReplyDeleteI really liked The Name of the Star. I also like serial killer books :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read anything by Julie Kagawa. I am intrigued by her Iron Fey series, but also a little hesitant because I faerie books sometime make me uncomfortable.
Anyway, enjoy your goodies and happy reading :)
I can see why some people feel that way about faerie books, but the iron fey series are one of my all-time favorites. I hope you read them at some point; the 3rd & the 4th are the best. Thanks!
DeleteYes, what's with all the redesigned covers?! The new covers for Unspoken and Untold is ugly in my opinion. ):
ReplyDeleteAnd ugh, the cover change for The Immortal Rules. I have both the hardcover and paperback version of The Immortal Rules because I like to have hardcover copies of books, but I also want the covers to match too!
Enjoy all your books & thanks for stopping by my STS! (:
I saw the cover for Untold and rolled my eyes. The first was original and different! The second looks like a copy of all the other paranormal YA books out there. It's like publishing companies will flash new interesting ideas and then sent someone with an iron bat to kill it. :/
DeleteThanks and you're welcome, lol. :)
I've heard mixed things about Mila as well, hope you have better luck!
ReplyDeleteHere's my book haul
Me, too. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! They definitively look good.
ReplyDeleteThe Name of the Star and The Program both look really good! following via blogloving and GFC :) Hope you enjoy all your new books!
ReplyDeleteHere are my newest additions
Thanks for the follow! I'll be sure to follow back.
ReplyDeleteSo many pretty books! Don't you hate cover redesigns?? I didn't mind it as much with The Immortal Rules as much as the redone Sarah Rees Brennan series, since that first book is SO PRETTY and the new design is NOT. I also love serial killer books and The Name of the Star is a pretty good one! :) Happy reading and thanks for visiting me today!
ReplyDeleteRachel @ Paper Cuts
Yeah, most of time I hate it! The ones for Unspoken are truly awful. But you're right, I actually like The Name Of The Star ones (I also like the Shatter Me redesigns). You're welcome, and thanks for the follow! :D
ReplyDeleteThe Program sounds amazing! Also, Unspoken has such a cool cover and I love the premise for it. Enjoy your books :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! They, sadly, did a horrible redesign of the Lynburn series.
ReplyDeleteOoh! I'm reading The Name of the Star for our Brunch Book Club this month actually - you should join us! :) I also bought Unspoken a while back because i hear it's just AMAZING....need to get to it! :P
ReplyDeleteSorry for the delay in responding.. been a busy week. Thanks for stopping by my StS last week! :)
