Stacking the Shelves

This meme is hosted over at Tynga's Reviews. Links go to Goodreads. This week, I got:

The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1) & The Eternity Cure (Blood of Eden, #2)

The Immortal Rules and The Eternity Cure by Julie Kagawa (bought physical copies) - I've already read and reviewed The Immortal Rules, but I decided to get a paperback copy of it along with its sequel - I'm not a fan of the redesigned covers, but hey, at least my books match.

The Program (The Program, #1)

The Program by Suzanne Young (bought physical copy) - I kind of bought this impulsively, so I'm hoping it's good. The first chapter was interesting, anyway.

Down to You (The Bad Boys, #1)

Down To You by M. Leighton (e-book) - Not usually the type of thing I read, but I felt like reading an adult book (it's been a while), so we'll see how it goes.

Unspoken (The Lynburn Legacy, #1)

Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan (library) - I heard that they redesigned the covers for this series, too, which is really disappointing because this looks so cool and different.

The Name of the Star (Shades of London, #1)

The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson (library) - I've been wanting to check out something by this author, and I have a weird attraction to serial killer books.

Sins & Needles (The Artists Trilogy, #1)

Sins & Needles by Karina Halle (e-book) - I believe that this is also adult. It sounds a little odd, but I've seen glowing reviews.

Mila 2.0 (MILA 2.0, #1)

Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza (library) - I've seen mixed thought about this so far, but I like the sound of it. Cover is intriguing, too.

  1. Nice haul! I like the cover redesign for The Immortal Rules, but not so sure about The Eternity Cure one. I mean, what even is that on the cover? A tree?
    Thanks for stopping by!

  2. You're welcome! Uh, I think they're tree roots. Which have, you know, absolutely nothing to do with the story. :/

  7. I loved The Immortal Rules & The Eternity Cure. I'm lucky that in Australia they have a different cover, and it matches the original cover of The Immortal Rules.
I want to read The Program, and I own Sins and Needles & Mila 2.0 but haven't read either yet.
    Enjoy all your new books.

Thanks for stopping by my STS

  8. I requested Mila 2.0 from the library 6 weeks ago and I'm still waiting. The book seems to be that popular, eh?

  16. I really liked The Name of the Star. I also like serial killer books :)

I haven't read anything by Julie Kagawa. I am intrigued by her Iron Fey series, but also a little hesitant because I faerie books sometime make me uncomfortable.

Anyway, enjoy your goodies and happy reading :)

    1. I can see why some people feel that way about faerie books, but the iron fey series are one of my all-time favorites. I hope you read them at some point; the 3rd & the 4th are the best. Thanks!

  17. Yes, what's with all the redesigned covers?! The new covers for Unspoken and Untold is ugly in my opinion. ):
And ugh, the cover change for The Immortal Rules. I have both the hardcover and paperback version of The Immortal Rules because I like to have hardcover copies of books, but I also want the covers to match too!
Enjoy all your books & thanks for stopping by my STS! (:

    1. I saw the cover for Untold and rolled my eyes. The first was original and different! The second looks like a copy of all the other paranormal YA books out there. It's like publishing companies will flash new interesting ideas and then sent someone with an iron bat to kill it. :/

Thanks and you're welcome, lol. :)

  22. So many pretty books! Don't you hate cover redesigns?? I didn't mind it as much with The Immortal Rules as much as the redone Sarah Rees Brennan series, since that first book is SO PRETTY and the new design is NOT. I also love serial killer books and The Name of the Star is a pretty good one! :) Happy reading and thanks for visiting me today!

  23. Yeah, most of time I hate it! The ones for Unspoken are truly awful. But you're right, I actually like The Name Of The Star ones (I also like the Shatter Me redesigns). You're welcome, and thanks for the follow! :D

  24. The Program sounds amazing! Also, Unspoken has such a cool cover and I love the premise for it. Enjoy your books :)

  25. Thanks! They, sadly, did a horrible redesign of the Lynburn series.
