Top Ten Tuesday

This meme is hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish, and this week the topic is:

Top Ten Tags/Words That Make Me Want to Pick Up a Book:

Entwined

1. Fairy Tale Retellings - Growing up, I was a sucker for these and I still am. I'm even more curious if it's about a story I know well. Example: Entwined by Heather Dixon.

Glimmerglass (Faeriewalker, #1)

2. Faeries - These are my absolute favorite mythical creatures to read about. Their world is so magical and interesting. Example: Glimmerglass by Jenna Black

Timeless (Timeless, #1)

3. Time Travel - I love, love, love this concept! It can get confusing at times, yes, but if done right it's amazing. Example: Timeless by Alexandra Monir.

Shadow and Bone (The Grisha, #1)

4. Castles - Whether they're mentioned in the summary or on the cover, I'm instantly attracted to anything with castles. Example: Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo.

Poison Study (Study, #1)

5. Poison - Call me crazy if you want, but ever since I've read a few different books with this stuff, it's been very intriguing. Example: Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder.

The Assassin's Curse (The Assassin's Curse, #1)

6. Magic - The promise of some magical mayhem is enough to get me excited to read something. Example: The Assassin's Curse by Casandra Rose Clark

The Madman's Daughter (The Madman's Daughter, #1)

7. Dark Historical Fiction - This genre by itself doesn't always appeal to me, but the ones with chilling summaries and creepy undertones are always fun. Example: The Madman's Daughter by Megan Shepherd

I Hunt Killers (Jasper Dent, #1)

8. Horror - Again, not the actual genre, but there's not enough horror books in YA. Example: I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga

Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1)

9. Dystopia - Any and all will do. Not all of them are incredible by any means, but the ones that are.... Example: Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi

Fateful

10. Forbidden Love - Yes, very cliche, I know. Example: Fateful by Claudia Gray
