This meme is hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish. This week, the topic is:

Top Ten Books You Read Before You Were A Blogger:

Now, admittedly, I haven't been doing this for very long, so I have quite a long list to choose from. ;) Links go to Goodreads.

1. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer - Twilight will always be among my favorite series because it's what made me interested in reading in general, and I still enjoy the books a lot.

Twilight (Twilight, #1)

2. I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga - This was one of my favorite reads of last year, and the sequel is coming out soon!

I Hunt Killers (Jasper Dent, #1)

3. Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers - I put off reading this forever because of the sheer size, but now I'm onto the sequel, which I'm also loving!

Grave Mercy (His Fair Assassin, #1)

4. Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry - This felt a little like Perfect Chemistry to me, so that definitely helped me like it.

Pushing the Limits (Pushing the Limits, #1)

5. Origin by Jessica Khoury - The plot was pretty original, and even though the insta-love was there, it was pretty sweet.

Origin

6. Something Like Normal by Trish Doller - One of my favorite contemporary reads of 2012; I don't get into that genre often so when I really like a book in it, it's awesome.

Something Like Normal

7. Looking For Alaska by John Green - I discovered this author last year, and now I firmly believe him to be one of the best.

Looking for Alaska

8. Darkfever Karen Marie Moning - I absolutely adore this series. I recommend it to anyone who reads fantasy adult as well as YA.

 Darkfever (Fever, #1)

9. Blood Red Road by Moira Young - Once you get past the dialect and lack of punctuation marks, this book is kickass.

Blood Red Road (Dust Lands, #1)

10. Sempre by J.M. Darhower - I was in love with it as a fanfiction, and now I love the book.

Sempre

  1. I just started blogging as well so I tweaked my topic a bit. I didn't read John Green until recently as well and now I want to read ALL HIS BOOKS.

    1. I don't blame you - once I read The Fault in Our Stars I was convinced I had missed out big time on his previous works. I've read all his stuff now except for An Abundance of Katherines and Will Grayson, Will Grayson. Thanks for stopping by. :)

  7. I want to read a few of these books. Looking for Alaska was my first John Green book and my favorite so far. I still haven't read TFiOS, though, so maybe my favorite will change? I don't know. Great list (:

  8. Well, if you're like me, it will definitely change. Looking for Alaska was great, but TFiOS . . . there are no words.

  9. Looking For Alaska is an amazing book and I've been wanting to read Something Like Normal. I've seen Blood Red Road around but I never really took interest in it. I didn't know it was written in that style but I'm definitely checking it out now.

  10. I was really put off by the language at first, but my friend swore it was good, so I pushed through and now I love Blood Red Road. :) Something Like Normal is a really good contemporary book; that's not usually my favorite genre so when I find something I love, it's awesome.
